    MONSTER 1200S

    BUILD DIARY

    From arrival to mock-up, documenting the transformation of a stripped-back custom Ducati build.

  • This Ducati Monster 1200s arrived at the workshop as the starting point for a full custom tranformation. the aim of the build is to refine the bike's proportions, strip the tank and the visual clutter and create a clear, more aggressive final silhouette. This page documents the process so far.

    Arrival

    The bike arrived at the workshop and was

    unloaded ready for assessment and strip-down

    Strip Down

    Bodywork and components were removed to expose the chassis and prepare for fabriction.

    Tank Development

    The tank was brushed raw back to the metal look. Before planning the design for the paint work.

    Tank Desgin Prep

    This is where custom work really starts to show its character — raw metal, hand-finished detail and the early signs of the final look coming together.

    FIVE

    Tank Paint / Design

    This stage of the Ducati Monster 1200S build shows the tank going from preparation to finished detail. The masking, paintwork and Ducati graphics all come together to create a clean, custom look that suits the shape of the bike.

    SIX

    Tank Fitted and Top-End Details

    The Ducati Monster 1200S is now starting to come together, with the painted tank fitted and the top-end details being checked and lined up.

    SEVEN

    Custom Flanges & Tube Design

    This stage focuses on making the custom flanges and shaping the oval-to-round tube sections for the exhaust setup.

    EIGHT

    Pie-Cut Exhaust Fabrication

    This stage is all about using pie cuts to create the correct bend and flow for the exhaust system.

    NINE

    Pie-Cut 2-1 Exhaust Fabrication

    The exhaust system is being built as a custom 2-1 setup, bringing both sides together into one clean flowing system.

    TEN

    EQUAL LENGTHS EXHAUST

    At this stage, I’m starting to bring the custom exhaust system together, using hand-cut pie sections to create the bends and shape I need.

    ELEVEN

    EXHAUST COMPLETED & TESTED

    After all the fabrication, pie-cut work and final setup, the system sounds exactly how it should. It brings the real character of the Ducati Monster to life, giving it a deeper, sharper and more purposeful tone.
